Proshares ETF
ProShares is the fourth largest provider of Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) in the United States. Like other fund managers, ProShares ETFs offers an effortless way to gain exposure to market indices through Exchange Traded Funds. However, new ways to manage risk and improve yield potential are what differentiates ProShares from other managers.
ProShares is a unit of ProFunds Group, the largest manager in the world that manages short and leveraged investment funds that trade on various stock exchanges. ProShares was founded in 1997. The funds are designed to allow investors to take hedging and speculative positions without having to purchase derivatives. ProShares ETFs trade like any other ETFs and can be bought and sold like stocks.
ProShares offers dozens of different ETF products, all designed to accomplish specific strategies for speculative investment. They are divided into three categories: Short, Ultra, and Alpha.
Short ProShares: The behavior of the Short ProShares is inverse of the market. The returns from these ETFs are designed in such a way that the returns will increase when the indexes or benchmarks on which they are based go down. These types are best for investors hedging their capital or those seeking profits in a declining market.
Ultra ProShares: These ETFs boost market performance by a factor of two. These are best for investors who want to magnify the impact of their investment capital.
Alpha ProShares: Through these ETFs, investors can gain access to advanced investment strategies.
